Pınar met us near her house at 1 pm today and we parted ways around 9:15 pm. It was a laughter, food, and gift filled day. Our moms enjoyed meeting each other and mom did a great job trying to figure out what everyone was conversing about. Pınar was also a great translator. We stayed for hours for tea and dessert and even received a visit from more neighbors who brought gifts for our whole family. Their generosity was overwhelming.

A neighbor nearby brought these scarves as a gift for mom.

We ate my favorites: salad, lentil soup, bread, meatballs, potatoes.

We are eating stuffed grape leaves in this picture. As you can see, I am still working on my meal. Pınar's mother said she gave me the most food because I am tall. Apparently that means I have more room :).
